Stainless steel thermostat controlled ATEX cabinet cooler systems are engineered and approved for use on purged electrical enclosures within classified areas, specifically zones 2 and 22. These systems have been tested by UL and meet stringent ATEX requirements. Available in cooling capacities ranging from 1,000 BTU/hr to 5,600 BTU/hr, they can be installed quickly through a standard electrical knockout. The thermostat control includes an adjustable setting factory set at 95°F (35°C) and activates the cooler only when internal temperatures approach critical levels, providing efficient operation during fluctuating heat loads due to environmental or seasonal changes. Each system features a low pressure relief valve that closes and seals when the cooler is not operating, preserving the NEMA 4X integrity (dust-tight, oil-tight, splash resistant, suitable for indoor/outdoor service, and corrosion resistant). Included in the package are a water-dirt filter separator to prevent water condensate and dirt from entering the enclosure and a cold air distribution kit to direct circulation or target hot spots. These cabinet coolers are CE compliant and are designed to be used in conjunction with a purged and pressurized control system, not as a replacement for such systems. Applications for these coolers include programmable controllers, line control cabinets, motor control centers, relay panels, NC/CNC systems, and modular configurations.
