MTC™ Bio's Erlenmeyer shaker flasks are constructed from polycarbonate, PETG, or styrene/butadiene for jumbo flasks. The polypropylene screw caps are vented with 0.2 µm membranes to increase air transmission and enhance cell growth. The flask mouth size conforms to the international SBS standard, allowing quick and secure connection to bioreactor equipment. Polycarbonate flasks and jumbo Fernbach flasks feature baffled (ribbed) bottoms to increase oxygenation and mixing efficiency at lower shaking speeds. All flasks, regardless of size, are individually wrapped and gamma sterilized to a sterility assurance level (SAL) of 10^-6. They are free of RNase, DNase, pyrogens, endotoxins, and human DNA. Polycarbonate flasks are autoclavable at 121°C and 15 PSI for 30 minutes.
