The hydraulic drum crusher/compactor crushes steel drums and resets automatically to crush another drum, with the included drum compacting feature allowing compaction of contents inside the drum by simply removing the drum crushing platen. The crushing feature works with any drum size up to fifty-five (55) gallons, while the compacting feature only works with fifty-five (55) gallon drums, providing two pieces of equipment in one. Safety features include a pressure relief valve to prevent overload and a door interlock system that prevents the motor from running unless the door is closed. Built-in fork pockets aid in transporting the unit. This machine must only be used with ribbed drums, as smooth-walled drums will not crush properly. A drip pan is included to reduce unnecessary oil spills, with replacement and additional drip pans available. The crusher delivers 38,000 lbs. of crushing force, flattening 55-gallon drums to 6 inches in 25 seconds. It is equipped with a powered illuminated on/off switch for increased user awareness and safety, and a mushroom-head emergency stop button that instantly shuts down the unit. The equipment is manufactured to comply with OSHA and JIC standards and specifications.
