The Proto® 1" drive 22 piece socket set features 12 point sockets that are specifically designed for use on stubborn or damaged fasteners, as well as fasteners made from soft materials. The set incorporates the innovative TorquePlus™ design, a high performance drive configuration that facilitates quick and easy socket engagement with the flats of the fasteners, rather than the corners. This configuration uses a radius-corner design that shifts the contact area and stress away from the corners of the fastener, enabling a more even distribution of contact stresses over a larger area of the socket, which minimizes slippage. Furthermore, the TorquePlus™ internal design significantly reduces the risk of fastener rounding, enhances fastener longevity, and allows users to efficiently turn worn, rounded, or rusted fasteners.
