The mini extension offers versatile use either by itself in tight spaces or combined with other extensions to achieve the desired reach. It features a polished, chrome-plated finish that easily wipes clean and is highly resistant to corrosion. The beveled drive end facilitates smooth guidance onto the drive tool, while four detent grooves provide a secure connection. Radiused corners inside the drive reduce stress concentrations to prevent cracking, and a spring-loaded retaining ball latches into sockets to hold them securely in place. Designed as the smallest building blocks, mini extensions add modularity to hand drive socket systems and can be used with existing socket accessories to build up reach. They also allow the creation of mid-length sockets by attaching a mini extension to a shallow length socket, combining the benefits of a shallow well with increased reach.
