The Tekton hex key set features longer keys in the largest sizes to increase leverage where it matters, with precisely manufactured hex key geometry on the large end of the applicable range to ensure a tight fit with fasteners and reduce slop. Tolerances are controlled by measuring from point-to-point and side-to-side for high dimensional accuracy and consistency. The keys have a 20° ball angle to enhance access to fasteners while maintaining sufficient strength. Except for the smallest sizes (1.3 mm, 1.5 mm, 2 mm, 0.050 in., 1/16 in., and 5/64 in.), the keys have slightly chamfered edges and a smooth top face to optimize engagement. Made from 8660 nickel chromium molybdenum steel heat-treated to 54-58 HRC, the L-keys offer maximum torque strength exceeding ASME minimum torsion load and ISO minimum proof torque standards. They are coated with a corrosion-resistant manganese phosphate finish tested by a 45-hour saltwater immersion following oil removal. The keys feature clear markings, with high-visibility laser and stamped markings on all but the smallest sizes. The included holder organizes the L-keys facing forward for quick access or can be oriented to the side for low-profile organization. Warranty terms apply as specified by the manufacturer.
