The Proto® 3/8" drive deep socket 5/8" is a 6 point socket designed specifically for use on stubborn or damaged fasteners, as well as those made from soft materials. Featuring the TorquePlus™ design, this socket incorporates a high-performance drive configuration that facilitates quick and easy engagement with the fastener flats rather than the corners. This innovative TorquePlus™ configuration employs a radius-corner design that shifts the contact area and stress away from the fastener corners, thereby distributing contact stresses over a larger area of the socket, which effectively minimizes slippage. Additionally, the TorquePlus™ internal design helps to reduce fastener rounding, extends fastener life, and enables users to more easily turn worn, rounded, or rusted fasteners.
