The kit features high leverage keys designed with longer shafts to increase leverage where it matters most, precisely manufactured with hex key geometry on the large end of the applicable range to ensure a tight fit with fasteners and reduce slop. The keys undergo two measures of tolerance control, measuring from point-to-point and side-to-side, ensuring the highest standards of dimensional accuracy and consistency. TEKTON keys have slightly chamfered edges, except for the smallest sizes (1.3 mm, 1.5 mm, 2 mm, 0.050 in., 1/16 in., and 5/64 in.), with a smooth top face to optimize engagement with fasteners. Made from 8660 nickel chromium molybdenum steel heat-treated to 54-58 HRC, the L-keys provide maximum torque strength that consistently exceeds ASME and ISO standards for minimum torsion load and proof torque. All keys have a corrosion-resistant manganese phosphate finish, tested by being wiped with isopropyl alcohol, submerged in a 1% saltwater solution for 45 hours, rinsed with tap water, and air dried. Except for the smallest sizes, keys are marked clearly with both high-visibility laser and stamped markings. The holder organizes the L-keys facing forward for quick access or facing to the side for low-profile storage, featuring self-aligning key slots shaped to guide the head of each key into alignment, and is made from durable material providing firm support.
