It features heavy gauge steel and cast iron frames, ball bearings, ISR® (Inverter Spike Resistant®) copper windings, and low-loss electrical grade lamination steel. This motor typically finds applications in operations requiring continuous or frequent duty, and its Super-E design is engineered to conserve energy over extended periods. It is Class F insulated, has a 1.15 service factor, and is inverter rated per NEMA MG1 part 31.4.4.2, making it suitable for both variable torque applications and constant torque speed ranges when used with properly sized and adjusted variable frequency drives.
