The control is made of carbon steel for long-lasting durability and serves as a central wiring point for most electrical components in a furnace. It monitors the thermostat for heat, cool, and fan demand for oil and operates the oil burner primary control as well as up to two-speed circulating fans as required. Additionally, it monitors the limit switch string, energizing the circulating fan whenever the limit switch opens. The device operates at a frequency of 60 Hertz and the gas valve functions within a temperature range of -40°F to 150°F.
