The 3/8-16x2 six lobe flat floor board screw type F features a black phosphate finish and is designed for thread-cutting applications. This type-F threaded screw is suitable for use with heavy gauge sheet metal, aluminum, zinc and lead die castings, cast iron, brass, and plastic. For stainless steel applications, the material into which the screw will cut threads should possess a lower hardness by 10-20 Rockwell hardness. The flat head design allows for installation where protrusion of the fastener above the mating surface is unacceptable, typically available in 100 degrees flat or 82 degrees flat for fastening softer materials.
