The kit includes 1/4-20 x 1 1/2 six lobe flat floor board screws made from type F black phosphate material. These thread-cutting type-F threaded screws are suitable for use in heavy gauge sheet metal, aluminum, zinc and lead die castings, cast iron, brass, and plastic. When utilizing stainless steel, the material into which the screw is to cut threads should have a lower hardness by 10-20 Rockwell hardness. The flat head design of these screws is ideal for applications where protrusion of the fastener above the mating surface is unacceptable, typically featuring a 100-degree flat or 82-degree flat for fastening softer materials.
