The drylin® N series features extremely low profiles in several widths, making it ideal for tight space constraints. This system includes carriages designed to glide smoothly on anodized aluminum rails without the need for messy lubricants and is available in preloaded versions to reduce running clearance. It serves as a cost-effective alternative to miniature ball bearing systems and offers greater precision and economy compared to custom-machined or simple plastic parts. Key attributes include a small mounting height and width, maintenance-free and self-lubricating design, high resistance to dirt, corrosion resistance, low wear with a low coefficient of friction, and lightweight construction due to the aluminum polymer combination. The system allows for very high speed and acceleration, and features replaceable polymer sliding elements made of iglide® J. The base structure of the carriage is made of plastic (size 17) or zinc, chromated (sizes 27, 40, and 80), with anodized aluminum rails available from stock.
