The Baldor-Reliance DC control is a DC SCR control unit designed for 115/230V operation and supports motor ratings from 1/50 to 2 HP. It features full wave SCR control with a free-wheeling diode (NEMA type K) and includes a field power supply that accommodates both shunt wound DC motors and permanent magnet motors. This control unit offers adjustable acceleration, deceleration, current limit, IR compensation, and minimum and maximum speed settings. It is equipped with a current limit indicating LED and a 5K speed potentiometer for precise speed control. The anti-demagnetization circuit safeguards permanent magnet motors and protects the SCR power bridge from direct shorts, while a noise rejection circuit helps prevent false starts and blown SCRs. The BC154-R variant comes with the BC156 FBR switch factory installed. This control is UL and CUL recognized, making it suitable for various applications including conveyors, mixers, packaging machinery, and other systems that require variable speed and constant torque.
