Sprayon WL740 Zinc Rich Galvanizing Compound is a 14 oz. aerosol can (S00740000) featuring a high-performance primer that contains 97% pure zinc dust pigment blended with epoxy resin. This compound stops rust through electro-chemical action on steel or galvanized coatings, utilizing self-sacrificing zinc to protect the base metal, thus preserving strength and preventing rust creepage when the area is scratched or penetrated. It fuses zinc to the metal substrate, delivering corrosion protection that equals or surpasses hot-dipped galvanizing. The fast-drying, high-solids, epoxy-based coating provides maximum protection for steel exposed to severe corrosive environments. The 97% pure zinc dust contributes excellent anti-sag and anti-settling properties, allowing for topcoating with conventional primers or finish coats. It is highly resistant to salt corrosion and water, meeting or exceeding performance requirements of MIL-P-26915C. The product is also an outstanding weld-through primer, making it suitable for surfaces subject to severe corrosion and rust conditions, such as fences, gutters, bridges, structural steel, wrought iron, and farm equipment. It is ideal for maintenance spraying in highways, food plants, power plants, refineries, or on damaged galvanized surfaces.
