The unit rotates on a bed of eighty 1/8 inch support balls, providing smooth movement. The support cup is both hardened and plated, while the cover is specifically treated to resist rust. This ball transfer unit, manufactured by Hudson Bearings, a domestic innovator in ball transfer technology, comes with a hardened and zinc-plated mounting cup and includes a foam seal. Housing options are available in stainless steel, with the additional option of a felt seal. The main and support ball materials can vary, including options for stainless steel, nylon, phenolic, and Delrin.
