The hopper automatically dumps when the bumper releases upon contact with the side of the dumpster and returns to an upright and locked position automatically after dumping. The kit includes a four-foot cable that can be operated from the seat of the fork truck to manually dump the hopper, and a safety restraint is provided to secure the hopper to the fork truck. The usable fork pockets measure 7 inches wide by 2 inches high. The hoppers are stackable when the top hopper is turned 90 degrees from the bottom and can rotate approximately 68 degrees. The hopper features a powder coat blue finish, and leak-proof hoppers are available upon request. This self-dumping hopper supports compliance with OSHA General Industry Rule 29 CFR 1910.178(m)(5)(iii) by allowing lift truck operators to remain at the controls of their truck throughout the dumping process. OSHA requires contacting the manufacturer of the forklift for written approval before using any fork truck attachments.
