The kit is intended for applications requiring general-purpose emergency lighting exit signs and includes features such as UL listing and compliance with UL924 standards. It is suitable for damp locations with a temperature range of 50° to 104°F (10° to 40°C). The construction consists of die-cast aluminum with a compact housing and a brushed aluminum faceplate accented by a matte black electrostatic polymeric trim, finished with clear lacquer to inhibit fingerprints and surface contaminants. A white housing and face option is also available. The design features a fully overlapping light seal to prevent light leaks, universal direction chevron knockouts that are concealed and easily removable, and provisions for conduit entry and pendant mounting. The product is covered under U.S. Patent No. 5,739,639, with additional patents pending. Expected LED life exceeds 10 years, and the mounting can be universal (top, end, or back) with completely concealed, easily removed mounting knockouts and hole plugs, ensuring no exposed hardware. A die-cast aluminum canopy is provided, along with a faceplate accessory kit available for one-face to two-face field conversion. It features dual-voltage input capability of 120 or 277 VAC, and emergency models come equipped with a test switch, status indicator, and a maintenance-free sealed nickel-cadmium battery that provides 90 minutes of emergency power when normal power is restored.
