The 6-inch incandescent housing is designed for remodel construction and is intended for recessed incandescent housings in 2x8 new construction applications. It is approved for direct burial in insulation and is compatible with all ceiling and wiring types. The unit is UL listed to U.S. and Canadian safety standards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The construction features an air-tight, galvanized steel pan with an aluminum can and a junction box equipped with four built-in Romex® clamps and a ground wire, rated for 90°C. The housing includes factory-installed captive bar hangers that span up to 24 inches on center, featuring a stepped shank nail with integral T-bar locks. Two locking screws secure the fixture position, while socket clips to the trim guarantee proper and consistent lamp positioning. The trim retention system employs riveted retaining clips at the top of the reflector to keep the trim inside the housing, along with two side-mounted torsion springs on the trim and two receiving brackets in the can, ensuring a consistently tight fit with ceilings up to 1-1/2 inches thick.
