The pizza peel features a blade size of 16" x 17" and an overall length of 42" (40.6 x 43.2 x 106.7 cm), constructed from wood. Standard blade long handle wood pizza peels should never be soaked in water; however, they can be seasoned or sealed with food-safe oil, such as mineral oil, to help prevent the absorption of unwanted odors and moisture. It is important to note that while sealing the peel can reduce the likelihood of picking up food particles, it does not extend the lifespan of the peel, which will eventually wear out over time. In the event of warping, leaving the peel overnight with the warp facing up can help it flatten out. To maintain the integrity of the peel, it is advised to avoid placing it on hot surfaces, which may increase the risk of warping.
