The kit consists of components designed to convert 56 through 256T frame stock TEFC motors into fail-safe brake motors, mounting on the fan end of the motor. For 56-184T steel frame motors, the kit includes a totally enclosed Stearns AC brake, a replacement cast fan cover, a shaft extension, a fan, and all necessary hardware. For 213T-256T cast iron frame motors, the kit is compatible with the Stearns 87,000 series brake but does not include the brake itself. It features two 1/2" NPT holes with 18" leads for electrical connections. The brake kit increases the overall length of the 56 and 143-5T frame motors by 5 1/8" and the 182-184T frame motors by 5 7/8".
