This new and expanded line of coupler brakes is designed for applications where mounting the brake between the motor and driven load is the preferred or most convenient location. The brakes are an excellent solution for adding a brake to existing equipment without the need to replace the motor. Constructed from rugged cast aluminum or cast iron, Stearns brakes are well suited for most industrial applications. The coupler brakes are designed for C-face connection on both ends; however, they are not suitable for overhung loads applied to the output shaft.
