The new and expanded line of coupler brakes is designed for applications where mounting the brake between the motor and driven load is the preferred location. These brakes are ideal for situations where adding a brake to existing equipment is necessary without replacing the motor. Constructed with rugged cast aluminum or cast iron, Stearns brakes are highly suitable for most industrial applications. The coupler brakes are specifically designed to be C-face connected on both ends, although they are not suitable for overhung loads applied to the output shaft.
