The Modine Hot Dawg® is a 45000 BTU separated combustion natural gas unit heater, designed to utilize fresh air for combustion through a unique separated combustion system, which includes one vent pipe for fresh air intake and another for exhaust of flue gases. This model (HDS) is particularly suited for dusty environments, such as woodworking shops. An optional concentric vent adapter allows for a single penetration through a sidewall or roof. The heater operates quietly with a Hush-Puppy feature and is factory configured for natural gas use, making it certified for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Its low-profile design and neutral color help it blend seamlessly into various decors. The unit is lightweight, allowing for installation just one inch from the ceiling using two included angle brackets (standard for sizes 30-75, with optional brackets for sizes 100 and 125). It can also be lowered with a threaded rod accessory kit. Installation is straightforward, facilitated by field wiring connections and knockouts for easy access to gas and electricity. The design features right or left-hand controls on all 30-75 units, and gas, electrical, and flue connections can be reversed by flipping the unit and adjusting the spring-loaded discharge louvers. The heater is equipped with a permanently-lubricated motor for reliable performance. It is ETL listed and comes with a full 10-year parts warranty on the heat exchanger, along with a 1-year limited warranty. The unit is proudly made in the U.S.A.
