The Master Lock® No. 480 rotating gate valve lockout device features a depth of 1-1/16 in (30 mm) and a stem opening of 3/4 in (19 mm), designed to fit valve handles with diameters ranging from 1 in (25 mm) to 3 in (76 mm). This device surrounds the valve operating handle to protect against accidental valve opening, and its unique patented rotating design facilitates easier installation in confined space applications. The tough, lightweight, dielectric Zenex™ thermoplastic body is resistant to chemicals and performs effectively in extreme conditions. The device also includes high-visibility permanent safety labels in English, French, and Spanish, which can be written on to identify the responsible person. Additionally, the center knockout can be removed for use with rising stem gate valves, and multiple workers can apply their personal safety padlocks for enhanced security. The design allows for each size to nest into the next larger size, optimizing storage space in safety tool boxes.
