The Justrite® vertical safety drum vent for petroleum-based applications is designed to fill and store flammable liquids safely by providing automatic pressure relief for drums with pressure between 3 psi (20 kPa) and less than 8 psi (55 kPa). The vent prevents pressure build-up caused by heat and vacuum formation during liquid draining or sudden cooling, which can lead to container failure. Vacuum relief on this vertically installed vent is manual. The vent is tested to allow one liter (61 cubic inches) of water to pass through a 3/8" (9.5 mm) pipe nipple in less than 6 seconds, and when closed, it prevents the escape of flammable vapor. Each vent includes a flame arrester for added safety and comes with a limited warranty of 1 year.
