The SciLogex D160 homogenizer is designed for the rapid homogenization, dispersion, and emulsification of samples, accommodating volumes of 0.1-50 mL or 1-250 mL depending on the generating probe used. It operates with a rotor speed of up to 30,000 RPM, drawing suspended material into its core, which is cycled through narrow slits in the probe, resulting in high shear that efficiently shears and disintegrates the material. This process typically achieves complete homogenization of various tissues, such as muscle, liver, and breast tissue, within seconds while minimizing heat production. The homogenizer is ideal for mixing, emulsification, shredding, or chopping small samples, featuring a lightweight design for easy one-handed operation. The generators are constructed from 316L stainless steel with PTFE bushings and include autoclavable stainless steel shafts, ensuring durability and compatibility with aggressive solutions. All shafts are interchangeable for convenient removal and cleanup, supported by a high-speed motor with speed control ranging from 8,000 to 30,000 RPM.
