Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications that require protection from harsh environmental operating conditions. Typical applications for these motors include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. These motors are designed, manufactured, and tested to exceed the IEEE 841-1994 standards for severe duty TEFC induction motors. They feature premium efficiency copper windings using Baldor-Reliance ISR (Inverter Spike Resistant)® magnet wire that comply with CEE efficiency guidelines, an Inpro Seal® on fan and drive end shaft extensions, a 2-part yellow epoxy oxide primer on the inside and outside, gray epoxy paint, and corrosion-resistant hardware. Additional attributes include reduced noise, vibration, and mechanical tolerances, with final test and vibration results shipped with each motor. The motors are ideal for installations that require premium efficient performance, manufactured and tested to stringent standards for severe duty service.
