Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications requiring protection from severe environmental operating conditions. Typical applications include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. The motors feature a built-to 841XL design, an upgraded electrical and mechanical design with NEMA Premium® efficient winding, and Inpro/Seal® VBX (thru 210 frame). They also include VBXX bearing isolators on fan and drive end shaft extensions, an epoxy paint that provides an IP56 enclosure, stainless breather drains, proprietary cast iron frames for reduced vibration and noise, and terminal lugs on motor leads. Each motor comes with a 5-year warranty and is certified for applications in petro-chemical, pulp and paper, cement, aggregate mining, and other process industries that require premium efficient motors designed, manufactured, and tested to exceed IEEE 841-2001 TEFC motor standards for extreme severe duty service.
