Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications that require protection from severe environmental operating conditions, such as petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. The motors are built to 841XL design and feature an upgraded electrical and mechanical design with NEMA Premium® efficient winding. Additional features include Inpro/Seal® VBX for frames up to 210, VBXX bearing isolators on fan and drive end shaft extensions, an epoxy paint providing an IP56 enclosure, stainless breather drains, proprietary cast iron frames for reduced vibration and noise, and terminal lugs on motor leads. These motors are designed for applications in petro-chemical, pulp and paper, cement, aggregate mining, and other process industries that require premium efficient motors. They are manufactured and tested to exceed IEEE 841-2001 TEFC motor standards for extreme severe duty service and come with a 5-year warranty.
