Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed to withstand harsh environmental operating conditions. These motors feature Super-E® premium efficient windings, operate at 460 volts, and have a 1.15 service factor. They come with a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish, regreasable ball bearings, an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box, and a Forsheda® shaft seal. The moisture-resistant ISR® (Inverter Spike Resistant®) copper windings are complemented by Class F insulation and a stainless steel nameplate with corrosion-resistant hardware. These motors are backed by a 5-year warranty. Typical applications include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, chemical plants, and other processing industry applications that require protection against corrosion from severe environmental conditions.
