Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications that require protection from severe environmental conditions. Key features include Super-E® premium efficient windings, 460 volts, a 1.15 service factor, and a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish. These motors also feature regreasable ball bearings, an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box, a Forsheda® shaft seal, moisture-resistant ISR® (inverter spike resistant®) copper windings, Class F insulation, and a stainless steel nameplate with corrosion-resistant hardware. The motors provide a 5-year warranty and are suitable for various applications such as petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, and chemical plants, particularly in tropical climates and other processing industry environments that require protection against corrosion.
