Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications that require protection from severe environmental operating conditions. Typical applications include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. The motors feature Super-E premium efficiency, a 1.15 service factor, a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish, regreasable ball bearings, and an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box. They also include a Forsheda® shaft seal, moisture-resistant copper windings, Class F insulation, a stainless steel nameplate, corrosion-resistant hardware, and are tropicalized. These attributes make them suitable for harsh conditions, including tropical climates and other processing industry applications that require high levels of durability and resistance to corrosion.
