Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed to protect against harsh environmental operating conditions. Typical applications for these motors include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. These motors are designed, manufactured, and tested to exceed the IEEE 841-1994 standards for severe duty TEFC induction motors and feature premium efficiency copper windings using Baldor-Reliance ISR (Inverter Spike Resistant)® magnet wire, which complies with CEE efficiency guidelines. Additionally, they include an Inpro Seal® on fan and drive end shaft extensions, a 2-part yellow epoxy oxide primer applied on both the inside and outside, gray epoxy paint, and corrosion-resistant hardware. The motors also exhibit reduced noise, vibration, and mechanical tolerances, with final test and vibration results shipped with the motor. Applications include sectors requiring premium efficient motors that meet strict standards for severe duty service.
