Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications that require protection from severe environmental operating conditions. Typical applications include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. These motors are designed, manufactured, and tested to exceed the IEEE 841-1994 standards for severe duty TEFC induction motors. Featuring premium efficiency copper windings that utilize Baldor-Reliance ISR (Inverter Spike Resistant) magnet wire, these motors comply with CEE efficiency guidelines. Additional attributes include an Inpro Seal on fan and drive end shaft extensions, a 2-part yellow epoxy oxide primer both inside and outside, gray epoxy paint, and corrosion-resistant hardware. They also offer reduced noise, vibration, and mechanical tolerances, with final test and vibration results included with the motor.
