Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed to protect against severe environmental operating conditions, making them ideal for applications such as petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. These motors are designed, manufactured, and tested to exceed the IEEE 841-1994 standards for severe duty TEFC induction motors. They feature premium efficiency copper windings utilizing Baldor-Reliance ISR (Inverter Spike Resistant) magnet wire that complies with CEE efficiency guidelines. Additionally, the motors include an Inpro Seal on fan and drive end shaft extensions, a 2-part yellow epoxy oxide primer on both the inside and outside, gray epoxy paint, and corrosion-resistant hardware. They also ensure reduced noise, vibration, and mechanical tolerances, with final test and vibration results shipped with each motor.
