Severe duty motors are available in a range of 1 HP to 700 HP, specifically designed for applications that necessitate protecting motors from harsh environmental conditions. These motors feature a Super-E premium efficient motor design, a 1.15 service factor, and a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish. They include regreasable ball bearings, an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box, and a Forsheda® shaft seal, along with moisture-resistant copper windings and Class F insulation. Additionally, they are equipped with a stainless steel nameplate and corrosion-resistant hardware, making them suitable for tropicalized environments. Typical applications for these motors encompass petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, chemical plants, and other processing industries that require robust protection against corrosion due to severe operating conditions.
