Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP, specifically designed for applications that require protection from severe environmental operating conditions. Typical applications include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. These motors feature Super-E® premium efficient windings, operate at 460 volts, and possess a 1.15 service factor. They are constructed with a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish, regreasable ball bearings, and an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box. Additionally, they include a Forsheda® shaft seal, moisture-resistant ISR® (Inverter Spike Resistant®) copper windings, and Class F insulation, complemented by a stainless steel nameplate and corrosion-resistant hardware. The motors come with a 5-year warranty, making them suitable for tropical climates and other processing industry applications that demand corrosion protection.
