Severe duty motors are available in a range from 1 HP to 700 HP, specifically designed for applications that require protection from severe environmental operating conditions. These motors are ideal for use in petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. They are built to exceed the IEEE 841-1994 standards for severe duty TEFC induction motors and feature premium efficiency copper windings made with Baldor-Reliance ISR (Inverter Spike Resistant) magnet wire that comply with CEE efficiency guidelines. Additional features include an Inpro Seal on fan and drive end shaft extensions, a two-part yellow epoxy oxide primer applied inside and outside, gray epoxy paint, and corrosion-resistant hardware. The motors are designed to reduce noise, vibration, and mechanical tolerances, with final test and vibration results included in the shipment.
