Severe duty motors are available in a range from 1 HP to 700 HP, specifically designed for applications demanding enhanced protection against severe environmental conditions. These motors feature Super-E® premium efficient windings, operate at 460 Volts, and have a service factor of 1.15. The durable construction includes a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish, regreasable ball bearings, and an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box. Additional features include a Forsheda® shaft seal, moisture-resistant ISR® (Inverter Spike Resistant®) copper windings, Class F insulation, and stainless steel nameplates with corrosion-resistant hardware. These motors come with a 5-year warranty and are suitable for various applications such as petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants, particularly in tropical climates or other processing industries where protection against corrosion is essential.
