Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are designed for applications requiring protection from severe environmental operating conditions. Typical applications include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. These motors are designed, manufactured, and tested to exceed the IEEE 841-1994 standards for severe duty TEFC induction motors. They feature premium efficiency copper windings utilizing Baldor-Reliance ISR (Inverter Spike Resistant) magnet wire that complies with CEE efficiency guidelines, an Inpro Seal on fan and drive end shaft extensions, and a two-part yellow epoxy oxide primer applied both inside and outside. The motors are coated with gray epoxy paint, incorporate corrosion-resistant hardware, and have reduced noise, vibration, and mechanical tolerances. Final test and vibration results are shipped with the motor.
