Permanent magnet DC motors are available in power ratings of 1/4 - 2 HP, while wound field motors range from 1/2 - 3 HP, suitable for Class I, Group D and Class II, Group F & G locations, and are certified by both UL and CSA. Key features include a NEMA C-face with a welded-on base, and the inclusion of a T3C thermostat and explosion-proof conduit box; these motors are not tach adaptable. Their applications extend to conveyors, feeders, and pumps that require variable speed and constant torque in hazardous locations.
