Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications that require protection from harsh environmental operating conditions. Typical applications include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. These motors feature a Super-E premium efficient motor with a 1.15 service factor, corrosion-resistant epoxy finish, re-greasable ball bearings, and an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box. They are equipped with a Forsheda® shaft seal, moisture-resistant copper windings, Class F insulation, a stainless steel nameplate, and corrosion-resistant hardware, making them tropicalized for use in extreme conditions. The design and construction meet stringent compliance standards for use in severe environments.
