Severe duty motors range from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications that require protection from harsh environmental operating conditions. Typical applications include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. These motors feature Super-E® premium efficient windings, operate at 460 volts, and have a 1.15 service factor. Additional specifications include a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish, regreasable ball bearings, an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box, a Forsheda® shaft seal, and moisture-resistant ISR® (inverter spike resistant®) copper windings. They are equipped with Class F insulation, a stainless steel nameplate, and corrosion-resistant hardware, all backed by a 5-year warranty. This makes them suitable for use in tropical climates and various processing industry applications that require enhanced durability against corrosion.
