Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP, specifically designed for applications requiring protection from severe environmental operating conditions. These motors are particularly suitable for use in petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. Key features include Super-E® premium efficient windings, a 460 Volt rating, a 1.15 service factor, and a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish. The motors also feature regreasable ball bearings, an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box, and a Forsheda® shaft seal. Additionally, they are equipped with moisture-resistant ISR® (Inverter Spike Resistant®) copper windings, Class F insulation, and a stainless steel nameplate with corrosion-resistant hardware. These motors come with a 5-year warranty and are designed for operation in tropical climates and other processing industry applications that require protection against corrosion caused by severe environmental conditions.
