Severe duty motors are offered in a range from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications that require protection from harsh environmental conditions. Typical applications include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. These motors are designed, manufactured, and tested to exceed the IEEE 841-1994 standards for severe duty TEFC induction motors. They feature premium efficiency copper windings made with Baldor-Reliance ISR (Inverter Spike Resistant) magnet wire that comply with CEE efficiency guidelines, an Inpro Seal on fan and drive end shaft extensions, and a 2-part yellow epoxy oxide primer applied both inside and outside. Additionally, the motors are finished with gray epoxy paint and corrosion-resistant hardware, designed to minimize noise, vibration, and mechanical tolerances, and include final test and vibration results shipped with the motor.
