Severe duty motors are available in a range from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed to protect against harsh environmental operating conditions. These motors are engineered for applications such as petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper mills, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. They are constructed to meet or exceed the IEEE 841-1994 standards for severe duty TEFC induction motors, featuring premium efficiency copper windings using Baldor-Reliance ISR (Inverter Spike Resistant) magnet wire, which complies with CEE efficiency guidelines. Additional attributes include an Inpro Seal on both the fan and drive end shaft extensions, a 2-part yellow epoxy oxide primer applied inside and outside, gray epoxy paint, and corrosion-resistant hardware. The design minimizes noise, vibration, and mechanical tolerances, with final test and vibration results provided with each motor.
