Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications that demand protection from severe environmental operating conditions, such as petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. These motors are designed, manufactured, and tested to exceed the IEEE 841-1994 standards for severe duty TEFC induction motors. They feature premium efficiency copper windings using Baldor-Reliance ISR (Inverter Spike Resistant) magnet wire, which complies with CEE efficiency guidelines. The motors are equipped with an Inpro Seal on the fan and drive end shaft extensions and are finished with a 2-part yellow epoxy oxide primer both inside and outside, along with gray epoxy paint and corrosion-resistant hardware. Additionally, they provide reduced noise, vibration, and improved mechanical tolerances, with final test and vibration results included with the motor.
