Severe duty motors, ranging from 1 HP to 700 HP, are specifically designed for applications that necessitate protection against harsh environmental operating conditions. These motors feature Super-E® premium efficient windings and operate at 460 Volts with a 1.15 service factor. The corrosion-resistant epoxy finish and regreasable ball bearings enhance durability, while the oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box and Forsheda® shaft seal provide additional protection. They are equipped with moisture-resistant ISR® (Inverter Spike Resistant®) copper windings and Class F insulation, ensuring reliability in extreme conditions. The motors also have a stainless steel nameplate and corrosion-resistant hardware. Typical applications include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, chemical plants, and tropical climates.
