Severe duty motors are available in a range from 1 HP to 700 HP, specifically designed for applications that necessitate robust protection against extreme environmental conditions. Typical applications for these motors include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper facilities, waste management sites, rock crushers, and chemical plants. They are constructed to exceed the IEEE 841-1994 standards for severe duty Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled (TEFC) induction motors and feature premium efficiency copper windings utilizing Baldor-Reliance ISR (Inverter Spike Resistant)® magnet wire, meeting CEE efficiency guidelines. Additional specifications include an Inpro Seal® on both fan and drive end shaft extensions, a 2-part yellow epoxy oxide primer applied inside and outside, gray epoxy paint for corrosion resistance, and durable hardware. These motors are designed to operate with reduced noise, vibration, and mechanical tolerances, and they are shipped with final test and vibration results included.
